Classes at Oregon Society of Artists:
NOTE: This class has been put on hold: See Workshops, below.
(Ongoing) Mondays, 1:30pm-4:30pm, $15 per class
2185 S.W. Park Place, Portland, OR 97205
In this casual, guided open-studio class, students work in one of two ways: Independently or with the group.
Individuals are free to pursue their own projects, working from life, imagination, photographs, or other reference material. Instruction is provided intermittently throughout the class period. A course of study will be developed with the student's individual goals in mind.
As a group, students will work with me on a common problem. Assignments are generally successive, but students are not required to have completed one before the next. (In other words, they may choose to work individually or with the group, on a week by week basis.)

Long Pose Figure Painting:
Beginning Monday June 7th, students will work with the model (nude) in one sustained pose spanning several weeks. Emphasis will be placed on developing a refined, polished painting, over the sum of multiple sittings.
I will paint along with the class (demonstrations will be offered in this fashion), breaking occasionally for impromptu, one-on-one critiques.
A group critique will be offered daily, after the model leaves.
The first pose is expected to last 3-6 weeks.
Model time: Mondays, 1:30-4:30pm (Please arrive early to setup.)
Group Critique: 4:30-5:00pm
Cost: $20.00 per day (Paid at the start of class.)
Minimum class size: 3 students
Maximum class size: 7 students
A second day and/or pose may be added (TBA).
Space is limited; contact me to reserve a spot.
Class will be held in the downstairs studio at OSA.
